Volunteer with GCJGSF
Saturday mornings, real golf courses, real impact. Our program runs on volunteers — coaches, scorekeepers, range monitors, photographers — and there's a spot for you whether or not you have a child enrolled.
Registered families
Every family commits to 2 volunteer shifts per child per session as part of registration. You'll pick your shifts in your registration manage page; we'll send shift reminders by email a few days before each Saturday.
Enter the email you used when you registered. We'll send you a link to your manage page where you can pick or change your volunteer shifts.
Community volunteers
Not a parent but want to help? We always need extra hands — especially from alumni, college students home for the summer, and community members who care about getting kids outside on real courses.
Fill out our quick volunteer interest form — tell us your availability, golf experience (none required for most roles), and what sounds interesting. We'll match you with the right session.
Background check + signed liability waiver required for anyone working directly with the kids. We'll guide you through that once you submit the form. Questions? info@gcjgsf.org.
What volunteers do
You don't have to be a golfer — many of our roles need organizers, not coaches.
- Range CoachWork with small groups on the practice range. Golf experience helpful but not required — our LPGA instructor leads each session and coaches assist.
- On-Course MarshalRide along during play to keep groups moving, answer rules questions, and keep kids safe.
- Scorekeeper / Stats ManagerRecord hole-by-hole scores for our handicap tracking system. Great for someone organized who wants to be helpful without being center-stage.
- Range SupervisorManage flow on the range, keep kids safe between stations, hand out balls.
- Photographer / Social MediaCapture action shots for the newsletter, impact report, and social. Great fit for anyone with a camera or strong phone.
- Lunch / LogisticsSet up lunch, distribute water, help with sign-in. Zero golf knowledge required — just a willingness to keep things running.
Why we need you
Junior golf programs are expensive to run on courses — we couldn't afford to do this without volunteer time. Every shift you cover is a kid who gets one more Saturday on a real course instead of in a parking lot.
Our model: small groups, real instruction, full holes. That only works with enough adults on the course to keep it safe and productive. Saturdays run roughly 8:00 AM–12:30 PM with lunch included for volunteers.
